More time is allowed to enroll in Obamacare

The White House effectively extended the Obamacare Open Enrollment Period by allowing anyone who claims to have started the healthcare enrollment process on Healthcare.gov, but was unable to finish it by the March 31 deadline, to have until the mid-April to complete the process. All you need to do is to check a blue box on Healthcare.gov indicating that you tried to enroll before the deadline. This method will rely on an honor system; the government will not check whether you are telling the truth.

Technically March 31 deadline stays intact, but effectively it creates a large loophole for people who waited until the last minute to sign up.  This also helps people who were affected by the Website’s technical problems, or who have not been able to get the system to calculate subsidies to help pay for the health coverage.

After Open Enrollment Period you may apply to Obamacare only under special circumstances if you are qualified for Obamacare Special Enrollment Periods.
