Obamacare enrollment for small businesses is delayed until Nov.1, 2013

On Sept. 26, 2013, the Department of Health and Human Services (HSS) announced that online Obamacare enrollment for small businesses using the federal SHOP exchange will be delayed until Nov.1, 2013. The small businesses who want to purchase healthcare insurance for their employees will still be able to enroll using paper applications, in-person meetings or over the phone to a federal call center. The delay is for online enrollment only.

Healthacre marketplaces for individual and small businesses are scheduled to open on Oct.1, 2013. Coverage is scheduled to begin on Jan. 1, 2014.
