New Jersey Medicare Plans: New Jersey Medicare Advantage Plans
Instead of opting for Original Medicare, you may enroll in one of New Jersey Medicare Advantage Plans. These plans are available through private insurance companies. By law, they will provide all services covered by Original Medicare. Plans usually contain a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan and other extra services such as wellness programs, dental, hearing and vision services, as well as a gym membership.
There are several types of Medicare Advantage plans. These include HMO, PPO, PFFS, MSA and SNP. All plans are available within the state of New Jersey. Below is the list of New Jersey Medicare Advantage vendors represented by Liberty Medicare:

New Jersey Medicare Plans: New Jersey Medicare Prescription Drug Plans
If you are covered by the Original Medicare, you should enroll in one of the stand-alone New Jersey Medicare Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs). Signing up is optional, but highly recommended. There is a penalty charged for delayed enrollment. PDPs are run by private insurance companies that cover both generic and brand name drugs. Most of these are well-known companies are prolific, conducting business across most U.S. states.

State Pharmaceutical Assistance Programs (SPAPs)
New Jersey has two SPAPs, namely, PAAD and Senior Gold. SPAPs provide financial assistance for prescription drugs based on financial need, age, or medical condition.
New Jersey Medicare Plans: New Jersey Medicare Supplement Plans
Medicare Supplement Plans (Medigap Plans) provide a buffer against the medical expenses that Original Medicare allows, but pays only partially. These expenses, known as out-of-pocket costs, include deductibles, copayments/coinsurances, and excess charges. Without such plans, you may incur significant Medicare health costs. Plans are sold by private insurance companies licensed in New Jersey.

New Jersey Individual Major Medical Qualified Health Plans
Qualified Health Plans (QHPs) refer to health plans that are compliant with the Affordable Care Act (ACA). They must include Essential Health Benefits and provide all required by law Benefits and Protections. The plans may be sold through Health Insurance Marketplaces, also known as Exchanges, as well as directly through insurance vendors.
New Jersey Dental Insurance Plans
Dental Insurance in New Jersey is available for people under 65 as well as for people over 65. There are three types of Dental Insurance available:
- Indemnity Dental Insurance. Dental insurance without network limitations where you may choose your own dentist.
- PPO Dental Insurance. It operates through a network of preferred doctors whose services are based on discount charges. For a more significant charge, you also may visit doctors outside the net.
- Dental Discount Plans. This is not actually dental insurance. Rather, these plans are an agreement between the insurance company and participating doctors who are offering discount prices for the majority of dental work they perform.

New Jersey Supplemental Insurance
New Jersey supplemental insurance plans, such as Hospital Indemnity plans, Recovery Care plans and Critical Illness plans, are Indemnity Health Plans. They allow you to visit any health provider without health network limitations. Such plans pay you the specified cash amount for each covered service, regardless of what the provider charges you.
